The public shelves don’t ask you to open an account. Reading a fact doesn’t require a name.
If you write
The contact form keeps your name, email, phone, and anything you add as a fact, source, or message for the desk. The note also includes the address of the connection, the page and URL you submitted it from, the referrer, and the parameters on that URL. It is not added to the public shelves. If the server can’t keep the note, the form says so.
Ordinary logs
The server may keep the usual technical record of a visit: address, browser, time, and the page requested. That record is for operating the site. It is not sold.
Cards on the shelf
Facts name a source when one was filed with them. Those sources are part of the card, not a profile of the reader.
Questions about a card or a note can go to the desk.
